I’m really glad i decided to continue with this series despite not enjoying the first one much.Returning to the dark and glamorous 19th century world of her New York Times instant bestseller, The Gilded Wolves, Roshani Chokshi dazzles us with the final riveting tale as full of mystery and danger as ever in The Bronzed Beasts. The puzzles also added a layer that i thoroughly enjoyed. it made it exciting to read, and i didn’t want to put it down. One thing i noticed with the silvered serpents is that the plot was non stop.

the narration of the audiobook really hindered my reading experience. i read the book instead, and found it much easier to get into the story. Regarding the audiobooks, i didn’t continue with this one. having had more time to get acquainted with everyone, i found them easier to connect an relate to. (i hate big casts as i have a hard time remembering everyone). firstly, the character pov’s were easier to follow as the characters became more familiar.

I found the silvered serpents to be a more enjoyable read than the gilded wolves. Mighty ape | the nile | paper plus | whitcoulls | the warehouse – i went on to read the other two without the audiobook and found i really loved them).ĭespite all this, yes i still plan to read the other two books. (i also wonder if the audiobook is the reason i struggled with liking this book. the constant switching was jarring and threw me off. they would alternate between an american accent for non speech, and switch back to french for spoken dialog. i found i really struggled with the narrators of this particular book as they all put on these terrible fake french accents. as a slow reader, it has helped me improve my reading pace). I read this book while reading along with the audiobook (which i do fairly often. i found there was too many of them and i kept mixing everyone up. The biggest thing is struggled with was how disconnected i felt from the characters. i had very high expectations and found the book to be very confusing. Unfortunately, i wasn’t blown away by this book. I was so excited when i received this series in the mail!
